Just for reference: I am not experiencing anything related to log size. It doesn't matter how many entries there are -- even if I just cleared it out. In fact, if it hasn't displayed the latest yet (i.e, I am still waiting for the latest entry) and I attempt to clear the log it will tell me that no ...

Very slow log refresh under director
In 8.1, Has anyone else experienced a very slow log refresh when viewing a job log in director? It is significantly slower under 8.1 than under 7.5 -- to the point that it is pretty useless for troubleshooting. Example: I can run a job and then go to view the log. Even though the refresh is set to 5...

Access violation on phantom job
I've searched and found a good many instances of folks experiencing an "access violation" error but they all seem to be very different -- probably a general type of error message. Here's my message: DataStage Job 618 Phantom 1636 Access violation. Attempting to Cleanup after ABORT was rais...

The issue was operator malfunction. :( I didn't realize the need to prefix variables with the name of the parameter set -- which I would've seen if I'd been starting with a new job and adding the parameters from the selection. It was only because I was still trying to use the old parameter names tha...

Parameter set params fail
I've been testing my install of 8.0.1. My job works fine when I select the env variables and put them directly in the job parameter list via the [Add Environment Variable..] button. Using a parameter set doesn't work. I created a new parameter set and put those exact same env parameters in it -- aga...

Even one of the IBM experts needed more than ten attempts to upgrade from 8.0.1 to 8.1. Wild horses could not extract that expert's name from me. I had the opportunity to install 8.0 before it became 8.0.1. That took three months to work out all the bugs in the installation process. :) I didn't hav...

Thanks, Craig. I noticed that same oddity (256 + 1) because, during earlier testing, I was able to get it to abort at 129 (128 + 1). I'll check out the patch. Hmmm... loop #257... one past #256... sounds suspiciously like an overflow problem to me. And it is! And there's a patch for it! Woohoo! :win...

Loop aborts with no message why
Below is a simplified model of the job I began with (wish we could upload a DSX). I removed everything except the loop itself so that it could be demonstrated. Maybe someone is willing to try this and see if they can duplicate the behavior I am seeing -- or explain to me what I am missing as to why ...

Re: Regarding Array Size
Hi can you please tell me what is packet size where can we find the packet size Typically, ethernet packetsize will be 1500 or less. You can use the command "ping <target> -f -l <size>" in a repetitive fashion to find out what the current size really is. If the specified size is larger th...

Re: DStage scheduled jobs via Director are not running/trigg
I suspect that your user on the "Schedule" tab of the project in the Administrator needs to have an admin level user established. Without this, jobs will attempt to run as the user that scheduled them -- which may or may not have AT privileges. Hi all, Whenever I schedule any job, schedule...

Re: Problem running a job by scheduling
I have received this error in the past in a related circumstance. Since you wrote that the user is part of the admin group, then the permission issues that can lead to this error are eliminated. Check that the folder containing your Oracle components is in your path; e.g., C:\Oracle\ora92\bin. All D...
