Eventually I ended up using the new(er) XML stage which got me to the desired non escaped context and with no line breaks between tags and data.

Hi, I assume you run the parallel job from the designer and running with no limit to warnings when you run it from a sequence it probably hit the default 50 warnings limit Please check and confirm if this is the case P.S. I had a similar issue with 8.7 where range lookup faild to work I had a single column with ID + a ranged timestamp column that didn't work as expected.
