Thanks ArndW

We were hoping that we could get the Job name from the Job activity stage but apperently we can't. Our plan is to use sequences so we will get the parameter values in different way, haven't figured it out yet.

Thanks again for your quick and precise answers

Thanks for the answer

We want to pass parameter values to the job that the sequence is executing. We are planning on doing that by making a lookup in a file with the job name of the job being executed by the sequence. We were hoping to make this dynamically but it seems like you can't the job name.

Get Job Name executed from sequence

Hi We have a sequence that execute a job. We want to use the job name that is being executed to make a lookup to retrieve parameter values from a file. The question is: can we get the job name that is being executed from a sequence? We have tried to name the Job Activity stage the same as the job be...

Hi -

Disregard my comment (which I have deleted) - I have done some more testing and things seems to work.

The last part about re-creating the project seemed to be a matter of I had not cleaned up the filesystem entirely where the old project resided. About using the operating system command hostname - the idea is perfectly good, however I don't like that there is wrong information in the UV database so ...

Hi Arnd, Thanks for your investigations. This was not really what I had planned spending a lot of time on (not blaming you of course) - and one problem often leads to another it seems like. Going forward deleting the first project gave me an error when trying to delete it. However I can't really see...

DSGetProjectInfo(DSJ.HOSTNAME) returns wrong/old servername

Hi - I have a routine in which I among other things extracts the servername - for extracting the servername I use DSGetProjectInfo(DSJ.HOSTNAME) The problem is that we changed the name of the server - but the the DSGetProjectInfo(DSJ.HOSTNAME) still returns the old server name. How do I get this to ...

Hi -

Besides being a permission issue it could also be related to the DB2 Connect parameter named SCHEMALIST. The name of the database(s) that you extract metadata from should be in SCHEMALIST.

Hi - I assume that you fixed this but just to add some info. I am pretty sure it is a DataStage issue. Had the same problem a while ago. If you insert the value 2006-12-31-23.59.59.999999 via an sql tool it works fine but if you do it through DataStage you get an error - whenever the timestamps ends...

Kumar -

Sorry for not specifying that. It is a string. I already did this and the output is different in the two cases.

When running the job directly the output is
2006-05-22 14:00:00

When I use the DS schedular to run the job the output is
"2006-05-22 14:00:00"

Jules - For testing purposes I created a very simple job with a parameter named P : Transformer --> DB2 Where I generated one row to be inserted. At runtime when it asks for the parameter value I simply enter : 2005-05-22 14:00:00. No quotes. This works fine - the entered date is inserted in the dat...

Scheduled job that has a TimeStamp as a parameter

Hi - Anyone got a solution to the following : I have a job with a parameter that is a timestamp. This timestamp is written to a DB2/AS400 database. When running this job from the director entering eg 2006-05-21 15:00:00 it works fine. Note - no quotes around this. When I schedule the same job and en...

Hi Don't know if you have got this working yet. The DB2 date is probably a day number when you extract it so you need to convert it to a correct date format. We have some DS jobs doing this conversion and the following works : Oconv(Arg1, "D-YMD[4,2,2]") : " 00:00:00.000" Regards...
