So when you released all locks under director and you do a LIST.READU are there still locks there? To get rid of the locks use the command UNLOCK USER <Userno> ALL in administrator or telnet. Having never used Datastage on Unix I assume you have access to use the commands DS.TOOLS or LIST.READU in telnet? If not run LIST.READU in Datastage Administrator. LIST.READU will give you a list of all the locks. Are there any locks in that list that don't have a PID? If there are then you will ne...

NEO: Make sure you don't have any rouge processes running that still have locks on the log file. I have had the problem of director hanging after I tried a clear log. This was due to a process still having a lock on the log file. After I cleared the process the purge was very quick. Just another opt...
