Return Code from dsjob -run OR use dsjob -jobinfo
Hi, I have a unix Script which uses dsjob for datastage Job Execution. I wanted to Know if there is there value in checking the RETURN_VALUE ($?) from the -run command? What does the $? return? What does -255 return code mean? OR Is it better to reinterrogate the -jobinfo for a status other than 0, ...

Whats next to convert function
I'm looking for a parallel function similar to convert.
My requirement is to change a matching input string (if found) to a output string defined.
convert does pretty much the same but for a single character and not for a string.
Any ideas or solutions are appreciated.

A typical scenario with Fixed width flat file will always represent NULL as spaces equal to the field length. DataStage will never consider space as a valid representation for NULL. I will do a Length after a Trim Validation to find out if its a NULL representation for a field or not. If Len(Trim(In...

I came accross same situation and solving it in Transformer used a constraint Len(Trim(somelink.somecolumn)) = 0. I had no gain in using IsNull() Validation but above logic worked fine. It works and simple. Since Transformer is parallel you still have performance enhanced. No, you need to filter the...
