Performance - Teradata with PX

Hi,

Is anybody use Teradata with PX? IActually, I used it with server (only).
Could you please give me the result, performance, statistic, ... I don't know, all that you have which permit me to use PX instead of Server.

Big Thanks,

I don't know but if you have PX, use it only for making the transcription. With PX, you have only to choose EBCDIC to ASCII and in your output file, all is good.

If not, good luck,

Why do you not use the stage columns generator where you do the count and after in a transform. With this stage you can keep your Parallelism and you are sure to have a unique value.

Christina,

With PX, you need to have the same column name for your key. Change the column name of your update file.

That can be a solution :
- Master Job or Routine which call a file. In this file, you have the list of your order.
- Shell script which replace your master Job,

You have a lot of possibilities. But before developping your solution, thinks to your team support, try to do : Keep it simply.

If you would keep all the sequencer into DataStage, you might create a little sequencer where each first Job is a restart Job. Other your own solution is to create a temporary sequencer where you delete all the job already executed with success. It's sure that you can create in basic your own schedu...

Sort all your input. First step, extract your data into a sequential file (sort your data in your Sql). Second step, Use Change capture for recover all your new data and the updated data. You can use after the change capture a transform for filtrering your data. But do not forget, you cannot use a d...

It's better to have more HashFile with only the row that it needs for the lookup (and depending to your mapping rules). You run faster than using only one biggggg Hash.
