Sica Region Undefined

We encountered this phantom error in one of our server jobs: DataStage Job 3297 Phantom 1092 Program "DSD.UVOpen": Line 580, Sica Region Undefined DataStage Phantom Finished I have searched both the DSXchange and the IBM Support Portal websites, nothing was found on this topic. We were abl...

Solution

I ran into a similar problem today. With help from IBM support, we were able to solve the problem. The cause is in the ../IBM/InformationServer/Server/PXEngine/lib directory. There are a series of symbolic links in this directory. You need to make sure they are all there. Our problem was instead of ...

Work Around Solution Found

I have found the work arround solution on this issue:

>SELECT COUNT('*') FROM AcctFdrHash;
COUNT ( "*" )

16599

1 records listed.

Putting single quotes around the * appears to do the trick.

dsenv caused system time to be shifted

After installing InfoSphere 8.5 on AIX, I noticed the system time was shifted by 6 hours. I was able to traced the issue back to dsenv: $ id uid=1050(dsadm) gid=109(dstage) groups=1(staff) $ date Tue Oct 11 14:08:31 MDT 2011 $ . /opt/IBM/InformationServer/Server/DSEngine/dsenv $ date Tue Oct 11 20:0...

Select COUNT(*) in UniVerse

After upgrading our ETL environment from DataStage 7.0 Server Edition to InfoSphere 8.5, we noticed when we are in the UniVerse engine, the select count(*) from a hashed file doesn't work anymore. However, if we do a count using a field in the hashed file, it works fine. >SELECT COUNT(*) FROM AcctFd...

UVTEMP is probably not pointing to the project directory. Look for UVTEMP in the $DSHOME/uvconfig file. I don't really see why dsadmin would not be able to import any jobs. It s too bad you didn't post the user:group in your file list. As well as the user:group on the directory itself. Have you tri...

ArndW wrote:login as that user to a shell on the server and "cd" to the project directory and see if a "touch abc" works. I suspect that the user doesn't have create or write access and this is causing your error.
touch works in the new project directory with this user.

Re: Cannot Import Jobs to Brand New Project

JFR, Thank you for the suggestions. I tried them and here are the results: - try to create/save a job with the user No, the user can't create jobs in the new project. - try to import with dsadm Import doesn't work with dsadm either, which should not happen if it is a permission issue. - Is the same ...

Cannot Import Jobs to Brand New Project

As dsadm, I created a new project like I have done many times before. After the project has been created, I log into it as one of the users with full developer privileges to start importing jobs. As soon as I kicked off the import, I would get this error: Error calling subroutine: DSR_JOB (Action=2)...

Devesh, Thanks for your response. You and Ray have answered my question. We are in the process of upgrading DataStage to 8x, and my boss just wanted to know do we have the option of put DataStage 8x on the mainframe if we choose to. If we do decide to go in that direction, I am sure I will have more...
