Lost DB, holding xmeta repository
Hi, We're a bit stuck - unfortunately our SAN has had lost four discs, and is unrecoverable. Our DB server is on this SAN, in particular the one in which the metadata schema xmeta is installed. We have no backups to restore to. What are our options in this senario? DS 8.5.0.3 (on redhat linux) Xmeta...

Thanks ArndW - I've taken you advice and created as dynamic 500009.. CREATE.FILE FILENAME DYNAMIC MINIMUM.MODULUS 500009 32BIT The file is in the project directory, but the vpar uses the same area/discs on the san. I'm not going to try moving it just yet. I've also enabled write caching on each on t...

Poor performance from hashed file following RedHat upgrade
Hi, We have recently upgraded the o/s from redhat 5.5 to 5.9,.. one job in particular has dramatically slowed down. Lots of stages write to one hashed file, i'm getting poor performance from this hashed file.. It was being created as dynamic, so I've used the HFC to get the settings for a static fil...

Unscheduling problems
Hi,
Has anyone come across a problem/bug in the scheduler, whereby rescheduling jobs sometimes unschedules other jobs in different categories?
It seems completely random. Only happened a few times, but I've now become very wary of rescheduling.
Thanks
Paul

Querying xmeta (in Oracle)

LOCKED_AT is a number(38,7 ),.. what's that? desc XMETA.XMETALOCKINFO Name Null Type REPOSITORY_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(64) LOCKED_AT NOT NULL NU...

Searching in &COMO&
We have random aborts in our project, usually connecting to and inserting into oracle tables. I have switch server tracing on, but as this is random,.. I've had to wait for an error to occur before switching back off again. Unfortunately it has product a large number of files in &COMO&. How ...

Resource_Tracker/Operations Console,.. in 8.5!
8.7s Operations Console does look very good and I believe it makes use of some of the o/s metrics produced via the resource_tracker,.. but while very useful with 8.7, how can 8.5 make use of the stats produced by this ticker? Is there an basic version of the Operations Console in 8.5? How else can I...
