Thanks chulett! I do understand how ODI actually works. Having it writing PL/SQL only works with Oracle DB, other DBs have different scripting which ODI support accordingly. Plus, I think this is a good feature since it can have more control on transformation in some cases, without using the paralle...

Hi folks, I'm currently doing a research to understand the major differences between: IBM Balanced Optimization and Oracle Data Integrator approach. "Balanced Optimization approach is comparable to ODI ELT architecture." How true is that statement? What are the limitations of DS approach c...

Match Designer - Comparision Types

Well, since no one tried to comment on this, I think I'll go with my logic :) Steps: 1. Prepare test data, if you have millions, it would be good idea to generate something around 25,000 or more. The more means slower testing. 2. You need to do Frequency job for this sample data. 3. You need to crea...

Solution

Hi, I finally found the solution. This line was my main clue: "Could not get mapping for one or more datatypes. Cannot create table:SPEC_1_FREQ_PROPS_DATA" I change ODBC driver and used "IBM Oracle Wire Protocol" instead of "IBM Oracle". The update worked like a charm. ...

Duplicate Job Recommendation

Hello guys, This is not an issue related post, but more to suggestions on what you think the best approach is. We have a table about 60+M records, and the client needs to have some statistics about duplicate in this table, and later on remove. There are four rules to find duplicates on this table: 1...

Major, No.

Minor, yes.

Workarounds, there is.

In the end it's all about what you use. But I recommend using it (upgrading if you are an 8.1 user).

It's always fun to fix issues :)

Cheers.

Another solution: Use Teradata Transporter 12 libraries, that is, by pointing to 12 folder of Transporter. ONLY transporter. This workaround has been accepted by IBM, since they are still working this issue. However, they state that 13.1 Client should be fine with 13.1 Server. Certified. This, I'm g...

Great info from all of you guys.

Please share, a lot would like to know (including me).
