When creating ODBC DSN's on our dev environment we came across this error.

Too many (99) Data Source specifications in configuration file

Is there any limit for the maximum number of ODBC connections in DataStage?

Is it possible to by pass this?

Hi,

Can you please issue the below commands and share your output along with the configuration file contents that you are using.
From server1
a. ssh dsusername@server2
b. ping server2

Also let me know the uid/gid of the dsuser in both the machines.

What is the encoding you used when you are saving the file? If you want to read UTF8 data you have to be sure that you save it in that encoding.

Hi Mav,

Can you please check with your network folks whether you are having a network band width issue on the Solaris Box. Whats the VMWare network connection bandwidth? Can you do a continuous ping from your DS client to the Linux box and see whether there are any issues?

Hi All,

By just clearing up the problematic job's status file and resetting all aborted jobs/sequences and re-running them again, I was able to resolve the issue. Just sharing this in a case some one wanted to just finish it some how till getting a permenant solution.

Were you able to resolve this issue. I also observed the same issue in my environment after changing a lookup stage to a join. In my case it involves areound 400 columns and probably there is a limitation in the SQL statement size.

Hi Don, If your DS Server OS is Windows please make sure that your OS partition and DS Installation partitions are not full.
