I have a couple server jobs simple pulling data from DB2 plugin --> inerting it into odbc stage --sql server table. for some reason the odbc stage is if the source column has a null value the odbc stage will insert a special character. do i need to change some settings so i can avoid this?

when you say how loaded is ds server what you mean?

what about the db2 load plugin; is the perfomance the same. i am just confuse since our db2 is in unix and the datastage server will be on windows.

currently we have datastage version 8 on unix machine, and the metadata is on db2. i have created a several jobs using the parallel jobs and server jobs. Actually we are using dmexpress a syncsort tool to convert this type of files, remeber our main goal was have everything in one single tool. I will see if i can get more info with ibm.

Does Anyone knows if Datastage can convert microfocus index format 8 files now? When we got this tool we were told that Datastage can't convert this type of files but they were going to include into next fix pack or soemthing.

you mean in the stage type the values? i dont get the second part, how do i assing these variables to parameter sets??

one more thing, in the notification stage, I use parameter sets where i have the smt,sender, this way i dont have to modify all our existing jobs if we change the smt.
but it seems like the parameter set is not working, but for the old jobs works?
