Hierarchical Data Stage - Edit assembly unexpected error

In our attempts to use the Hierarchical Data stage, after dropping the component into a Parallel job, opening the Properties and clicking on the Edit assembly button, we receive two DataStage windows. The first states "To return to the main stage editor dialog box, you must first close the Asse...

Okay, I have my export, and I have also been able to identify the job numbers with the code provided. What is the next step? Isn't deleting the DS components from DS Manager removing them from the VERSION project? I have done this, but the DS components still show in DS Version Control. Is there a &...

Ray, What do you mean by "archive older versions of jobs"? I want to make sure about this, because I have exported older versions of jobs to a dsx file, and then deleted the component from the VERSION project. But, when I went back into DS Version Control, the component was still present. ...

Thanks Ray. How does one convert the dynamic hashed files into static hashed files? After doing this does DS Version Control continue to use(create) the static hashed files? We have definitely thought about creating multiple version control projects but feel that we may run into the same situation. ...

I have worked with DataStage support on doing a recovery of my Version Control repository and followed the step described below: 1. Create a DS project (if it does not already exist) to be used for the VC (Version Control) repository. 2. Import the DSX from the original Version project. 3. Attach to...

It was the timeout. It's was set to 24 hours, which is why I only seem to get calls regarding this on the weekends. Thanks for the help. Wouldn't it make more sense for the timeout to be in minutes or hours as oppsed to seconds?? Where did you find the 24 hour timeout setting? What did you change i...

DataStage server version plus ?

Our client purchased DataStage server version 6.0. The majority of there source data is located on mainframe, AS/400, S/36 platforms. I would like to know of a complimentary set of tools that could be recommended. Why? In the short time that I have been working with DataStage, the process has been t...

Craig, I have checked what you suggested and still am left in the same situation. Unfortunately, I have encountered other situations where the DS documentation shows one thing and our DS environment does not reflect what is documented. It is frustrating to say the least. Being a DS novice makes it m...

Thanks. Apparently tracing has been restricted somehow. How would I go about unrestricting this funcationality to my DS Administrator?

Thanks,
