Couple Ideas, Is there an easy way to distinquish English vs. French names? I would not expect it, but thought that I would ask. If so, pipe the french names to FRNAMES and others to CANAMES. Another option is to Standardize all the records with CANAMES.... then run the Unhandled French names throug...

I fully agree with all of you .... I just spend a quarter of my day catching my client's mistakes due to DataStage's GUI. It's a catch-22, simple GUI with less flexibility ... or repetative actions with more flexible GUI. I'm just thinking out loud about the two tab method that Ascential uses for th...

Hash File: Input/Output
Hello All, When using hash files, has anyone ever had a different layout between their input hash file layout, and their outbound file(s) layout? The same question could be asked about Sequential Files! Lookup Table =Inbound=> HashStage =Outbound=> TransStage .... I believe that this is just an issu...

Put 4 different QualityStage (INTEGRITY) Stage's in a DataStage job. Call each one of your match procedures in the order you want. Then connect them together. You might have to put flat file buffers between them. Source => Match 1 => Match 2 => Match 3 => Match 4 => Target Or Source => Match 1 => Fl...

ProfileStage
Any desire to have a forum strictly for ProfileStage and data profiling?
I think that the data quality forum is far too broad and gets too many different kinds of questions to be valuable strictly for data analysts.

Unfortunately, QS does not have the same functionality as DS's Director, or command line interface for clearing locks or stopping rogue processes. I have the same issues with ProfileStage. I can only hope that Ascential consolidates that process management to a single, consistent manager. If I were ...

Pablo, INTEGRITY (AKA QualityStage v6.0) supported Solaris 2.8. I would also assume that QualityStage v7.0 would. However, I would call Ascential Support/Sales for the most up-to-date certification list. They have not generally release this information yet, via their partner website. Per your second...

Pablo, That really depends how you are using the product. Will you be running QS stand alone, or are you using it with DataStage? At bear minimum, QS needs directory space for it's Pattern Files, Classification Files, Reports, etc. However, in general it does not need much space. I can't image needi...

Ray, I've got what I believe should answer your question. I should note that I owe a special thanks to some Ascential SE's for this answer. 1. 'Weight' and 'Match Weight' are generally synonymous and mean the 'score' of that record compared to the 'master'. The weight for an exact match is different...
