Hello,

I must extract the data of a data base (DB2) and store them in flat files with fixed size.

My problem is to generate files with the first line is the name of the columns.

Hi,

The dsjob.exe command is in the repertory of the engine

==> by default on windows /Ascential/datastage/Engine/bin

Was the installation made with the account "root"? If so, have you to position the umask with 022, so that the rights are to propagate with under repertories of the projects? Do you connect yourself with dsadm? If so, it is strange which you cannot reach the projects, if dsadm is the owner...

Hi

It is necessary to check that your to user formed well part of the group who is owner of the repertories of your projects.

If it is not the case, then adds your to user with the group (in general the group it's dstage)

I must write in sequential files, but the first line must be the heading of columns. I do not find the option which makes it possible to do that. Can one do it in PX? If so, how?

Thank kduke, But how to make a head on each file, since when the job traverses the repertory, it makes the equivalent of a concatenation of file, therefore I do not find any more the first line starting from the 2nd file ? vmcburney, it is a coincidence the fact that the first character is numerical...
