Response from IBM Support

Response form IBM support: DataStage has not been tested with Pitney Bowes services, nor are we familiar with what their addressing service offering is. .....,But again, this was not explicitly tested with Pitney Bowes addressing service so we would not be able to provide support for that. Thanks

Addresses Services

Our Information Server programs currently use the address service from QS, USAC component. Other parts of our company use different address service software. My management wanted me to ask if Information server (DataStage, QualityStage) can use Pitney Bowes address services? I searched DSXchange for...

Membership Show Expired but renewed 2 months back

My company renewed my premium membership in September 2014 for 1 year. The membership was renewed successfully in September but a few weeks back it showed expired again. All my email to the membership director and webmaster have not resolved the issue or gotten a response: Invoice #: 0000002906 Can ...

I was instructed by IBM consultants to always put my engine binaries on a separate mount point so I would not accidently overwrite the binaries and need to do a reinstall. :)

v9.1 Designer Client Crash

I experienced a crash trying to bring up the Designer client in a new install on a windows XP SP3 PC. The error message: 'DataStage Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the incovenience". I loaded the DSDesign.exe in dependency walker and profiled the executio...

I remember in the past when we switched from Linux to AIX that we had problems with some of the applications. If I remember correctly it had to do with the difference in endianess. Check into this to see if you are having this condition. There is plenty of information on the internet about the diffe...

Debugger in IISv8.7/9.1

We are planning on migrating to IISv9.1 and want to hear from someone who has used the interactive code debugger. Is it resource intensive? If so, how much more cpu and/or memory is needed? In your experience, does it work as you expected? If not, what do you feel is missing? I assume it is installe...

It sounds like the parallel job is trying to perform concurrent updates to the table resulting in conflicts. Try setting the DB stage performing the changes to the table to sequential mode and try the job again to see if that resolves the issue.

If you are using dsx files to transfer the projects for Dev to Acceptance you can search the dsx dataset and find any reference to the DB2 call and see if it will reveal how the information is being passed. If you find it, I would be interested in what you find out.

Thanks

Does the Dev and Acceptance environments use the same DB2 database or are there separate DB2 databases for each environment?

Our shop uses Oacle and the DBA's setup what they called an alias so no reference to a schema is required.

You may want to check with your DBA to see if that is the case.
