There is evidently another step that has to be done as well. I don't know if you did it, but here are the instructions as plucked from an email chain between our DataStage admins: Go to project properties, general tab, click on environment, click on user defined, right click uner details, add new c...

When accessing oracle DB via oracle stage the check box "use os level authentication" enables to connect the DB without supplying user name and pwd.
On the stored procedure stage that kind of configuration is missing

The stored procedure can be accessed via sqlplus from the server, what kind of configuration should we implement on DataStage?

I agree. If the single logical job can recover and restart while cleaning its remainings from the last un-successful run, the above HA solution will work. We implemented this solution in a bank with DS 8.0.1, on top of a cluster of 2 AIX machines that point to the same storage (EMC) and same reposit...

Hi chulett, I wish to add some idea I heard from an IBM rep.: when implementing the Enterprise Edition over multi-node architecture, the HA is sort of "built-in" as one node may die during the process and yet, the entire process will finish while migrating the "crashed" portion t...

Hi RobRob We had implemented a DRP architecture with the server edition (8.0.1) It is NOT an high availability solution, but an AIX cluster that will activate the secondary node when the primary one will crash. Under this solution, recovering from a HW crash is the same as recovering from a sudden b...

ds_ipcput() - timeout waiting for mutex

Hi all, I am using a server job that look like that : seq_file ->transformer -> transformer -> link_collector -> sort -> transformer -> aggregator ->transformer -> seq_file The job uses inter process (with 512k buffer size) When running on large amount of data I get an error: ds_ipcput() - timeout w...

Guess you are right...

It is the "two separate installations behave the same" that gave me the hope of a known "feature" that can be fixed using a simple hack...

Thanks anyway.

I'll update as soon as I receive an answer from IBM support.

Can't save a package with the Information Server Manager

Hi, I am doing my first practical steps with the Information Server Manager (post manual reading). For some reason, I keep failing when trying to create a folder or save a newly created package (same behaviour on WIN2003 and AIX): 1) When I try to create a folder (right-mouse-click on Packages, new....
