Is there a technique used to create a representative valid sample (to limit number of records) to be used by Match Specification Designer

First time creating pattern subroutine expressions

My data has words like

MENS HOUSE
MEN'S HOUSE

I would like to create an expression in the Apostrophes SUBROUTINE that would handle words ending with 'S and replace with just S e.g. MENS

Used SEPLIST and STRIPLIST to resolve

In my dataset I have a first name like MOH'D

I have attempted the following to classify, but feel that this is not the correct approach

MOHD "MOH'D" F 800

What is the accepted approach I should have used

Created new table, all columns set NOT NULL

Inserted 1 row

Ran column analysis, Fails at 23 second. Log shows glibc error

Create new DB2 table, all columns nullable

Inserted 1 row, no null values

Column Analysis ran overnight, checked this morning still "In progress" - just checked - Task error Error message: Request Timed Out

Just tried with APT_TRANSFORM_COMPILE_OLD_NULL_HANDLING set to true

Same result

I Created a new DB2 test table with with 1 row of data (no nulls) - still get the same issue

I have spent alot of time trying to find a solution so I can progress with cloumn analysis and the data profiling exercise

I will walk away data profiling exercise at this time

I have ensured all the InfoSphere fixpack have been applied (8.7.0.2)

Still cannot complete a column analysis - still getting glibc error

Have anyone else had similar issues with Suse linux installs and found a work around

I am running my first column analysis, The activity status indicated Error Encounted. Solution was to update the ODBC drivers
