Thanks UCDI.. We bought information analyzer and we are in the process of installing and configuring but it will take some time before we fully utilize IA.

Besides IA, anyone has any other ideas? Does DataStage has the feature to analyze data and determine the data types for flat file sources?

Changing the data type in SQL server ODBC stage from 'varchar' to 'nvarchar' fixed the problem.

Thanks all for the positive replies... Its very encouraging... I will make sure that host names are unchanged in the host files... BUT IP addresses in the host files will definitely change. I believe the host names are embedded in the product, not the IP addresses. But please feel free to correct me...

Hi all, We are repeatedly getting "The connection is broken (81002)" error messages when the designer client is left idle for 2 or 3 minutes. There is no issue with director client. Timeout settings in administrator and global timeout settings (web) seems to be fine and nothing has changed...

ArndW, Both test and prod are DataStage 8.1 and they are as of fix pack 1. Ray, There are no compiler errors. It's just that the same exact job design compiled on two different servers works differently. If I copy the executable from PROD to TEST, then ETL works fine. The executable generated on TES...
