If we add APT_DISABLE_COMBINATION environment parameter and set it to TRUE the job runs fine. Otherwise it aborts with these error messages - FIMSCNSPC004.Aggr_22.DSLink83_Sort,3: Internal Error: (blockSizeActual >= v4BlockHeader::size ()): datamgr/partition.C: 434 Traceback: Could not obtain stack ...

Please correct me if I am wrong but my understanding of a Protected project is that all the jobs in it will be in Read Only mode by default. And the requirement is that in middle of clients DataStage jobs there is one of our job which client cannot modify. Kind of "Oops! you have choosen the wr...

That resolves the issue and so I'll be marking it "Resolved".

But out of curosity, does that mean the ORACLE_HOME variable cannot take more than one value? What if tomorrow another interface, Orcale 8i, is required to be added?

Read Only jobs

Hi I have a requirement to make specific jobs Read Only. Searched the froum and found lot of pointers. Replacing Readonly "0" with Readonly "1" suits the best. But.. The problem is that the same job can be exported again, original one can be deleted from repository and the Readon...

Connecting 9i and 10g from different projects same server

Hi Is it possible to connect to Orale 9i database from one DataStage project and Oracle 10g database from another DataStage project on the same DataStage server? As per my understanding dsenv is for the server and not for individual projects. So what will be the ORACLE_HOME value in such case? Can i...

Thanks Ray. You've always been helpful  . I found the solution. I fetched all the columns from SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS table and did all kind of string and null handling to get a string out of it. Passed that string (SQL body) to another job as a parameter which has this DUMMY column that takes in t...

Can the columns be loaded at runtime

Hi all I have a requirement to make a generic job which will take all database details required for connection and tablename as job parameters. It will extract all the records (select * from #TABLE#) and write it into a file. Is it possible by any means? I mean can we run a job without specifying me...

@ArndW: I don't think so. We specify no. of rows as the value for ROW_COMMIT_INTERVAL parameter. Another parameter TIME_COMMIT_INTERVAL is time based to which we assign value in seconds. My doubt is: ROW_COMMIT_INTERVAL takes value in multiples of ARRAY_SIZE, which is another parameter. But the comm...

What is the difference between environmental variable $APT_RDBMS_COMMIT_ROWS and in DB2 enterprise stage ROW_COMMIT_INTERVAL parameter?? What I observed that only specifying ARRAY_SIZE in DB2 enterprise stage is enough when you want updates to commit at particular intervals. Can anyone explain how t...
